Blow Bottle Exercise

Blow Bottle Exercise (exhalation exercise) is a practice that requires deep inspiration and lung expansion to develop increase lung pressure.

Materials Used:

1. Tissue
2. Bottle
3. Stethoscope

Procedure:



1. Check the patients chart.

2. Explain the procedure to the patient.

3. Prepare all the needed materials at the patient bedside.

4. Do medical hand washing.

5. Auscultate the anterior and posterior lung sounds.

6. Wipe or wrap the tube in a clean tissue.

7. Let the patient inhale and exhale 3 times and on the 3rd time let the patient exhale.

8. Provide oral hygiene.

9. Re-asses lung sounds.

10. Record the effectiveness of the procedure.
